About the

artist

Isabella Stockbridge is an American oil painter from Fresno, California. She is currently based in Laguna Beach, California where she graduated from Laguna College of Art and Design to attain her BFA in Drawing and Painting with an emphasis in Illustration. She finds inspiration for her pieces from society around her, myths, stories, and psychology. Where she is then able to reinterpret them and retell the feminine story connecting the past, present, and future of femininity.

Artist

statement

I have always had a strong connection and affinity towards my femininity. Being a girl was always attached to my identity since I was the only daughter, sister, niece, and granddaughter. This heavily influenced my interest in being highly focused and geared towards what it means to behave as a woman in this world and age. I paint what  I see and experience, who I want to be and where I exist. The feminine personas in my paintings are mystics and transcendent, they connect to those before and beyond us through our shared experiences. Seeing the path that brought us from our foremothers and will end up bringing us to our descendants.
